I will win the Democratic Primary on August 14th if I can inspire a grassroots movement to overwhelm my opponent.

In the 2016 Democratic Primary, Peter Welch ran unopposed and received 67,285 votes statewide. On the other hand, Bernie Sanders won 115,863 primary votes. Although Welch endorsed Bernie for that primary, he is an established fixture of the Corporate Democratic National Committee that systematically undermined Bernie’s campaign. A grassroots movement that motivates the turnout of half of the Vermonters who supported Bernie in 2016 will replace a “centrist” Corporate Democrat with a Democratic Socialist.

Here is a link to Peter Welch's funding. Welch receives money from corporate pacs on a 3 to 1 ratio over real citizens. If you follow the link you can see how he put together his $2 million dollar war chest: from the Military/Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Insurance, Finance, and Telecommunications industries. The big corporations automatically send $2000 contributions as often as the law will allow.

Furthermore, Welch showed his true colors as a Corporate Democrat in 2016 when he co-sponsored a bill written as a part of a larger effort by the pharmaceutical lobby to curtail the use of “immediate suspension orders.” According to the Washington Post, the law “Makes it virtually impossible for the DEA to freeze suspicious narcotic shipments from the companies.” In other words, when the DEA believes that opioids are being diverted to the black market, they are now blocked by statute from any effort to stop them.

Here is the 60 Minutes episode:

Here is the Washington Post article:

According to VTDigger, “In total, during the 2014 and 2016 election cycles,” Vermont Representative Peter Welch received “about $76,000” from pharmaceutical  lobbyists. VTDigger goes on to say Welch received an additional $27,000 directly from pharmaceutical distribution companies. This clearly demonstrates how Welch votes in the interests of his large corporate donors, even when it contributes to an epidemic that is killing Vermonters.

This is a real chance to stand up to the Pharmaceutical Lobby and the Democratic National Committee that scuttled Bernie’s campaign.

COMEDY, CONGRESS, IMPEACHMENT & PETER WELCH

Trump is so obviously impeachable on so many grounds that
someone like LEWIS BLACK can use the idea of his innocence
as the basis of a comedy shtick.  This is from MAY 2017: Lewis Black-Trump and Russia...

Seven months later, in December 2017, REP. PETER WELCH
voted to table articles of impeachment brought against Trump.
Welch voted with the majority to silence discussion of Trump’s
impeachment: Here

This choice by the majority of House Democrats illustrates the party’s corruption and lack of principles. When President Bush committed the US to an illegal war in Iraq, Welch wouldn’t hear of impeachment then, either.

Democrats of this stripe need to go.

When President Bush committed the US to an illegal war in Iraq,
Welch wouldn’t hear of impeachment then, either.

  • Peter Welch’s record is a decade of denial.
  •  Peter Welch opposed impeaching Bush for an illegal war.
  •  Peter Welch voted NOT to talk about Trump’s impeachable offenses.

HOW WAS THAT IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST?

BEN MITCHELL WILL VOTE TO CONSIDER ANY EVIDENCE-BASED
ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT OF THE PRESIDENT, BECAUSE THAT
IS A CONGRESSPERSON’S JOB.
